Labor Day Holiday

Today is a holiday in the U.S. – Labor Day. Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, and is celebrated on the first Monday in September. It is a day to celebrate everybody who works.

Just as Memorial Day in late May marks the beginning of the summer season, Labor Day marks the end of the summer season. Many people have a barbeque with family and friends on this day. You can read more about the Labor Day holiday here.

To write better, you need to practice writing regularly. So today, I want to give you the topic of holidays in your country to write about. Choose one holiday from your country. Try to write 5-10 sentences about the holiday in your language journal.
  • How did this holiday start?
  • What do people in your country do to celebrate this holiday?
  • Do you have any special traditions for this holiday?

I hope you find this activity helpful. Try to find time to write in your journal a few times a week. Keep writing, keep practicing. Your writing will improve over time as you keep practicing every week.

Are you interested in receiving my feedback on your writing? Contact me by email or schedule a lesson with me and I will be happy to talk with you about how I can help you improve your writing.
